このラットのHector(ヘクター)は1961年にフランスが初めて宇宙に送った(弾道飛行)動物である。
この小さな宇宙飛行士を、フランスのSF作家"ジュール・ヴェルヌ"の代表作の一つでもあるSF小説「De la Terre à la Lune」(『地球から月へ』、または月世界旅行とも言う)を素材に、この小さな飛行士の物語を形作った。

1988年横須賀市生まれ。
2014年東京造形大学美術学科彫刻専攻卒業、東京造形大学卒業研究・卒業制作展「ZOKEI賞」受賞。

This rat, Hector, was the first animal sent into space (ballistic flight) by France in 1961.
The story of this little astronaut is based on the science fiction novel “De la Terre à la Lune” (“From the Earth to the Moon” or “A Trip to the Moon”), one of the masterpieces of the French science fiction writer “Jules Verne”.


Atsushi Adachi　
Born in Yokosuka, Japan in 1988.
Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 2014, majoring in sculpture, and received the “ZOKEI Prize” at the Tokyo Zokei University Graduation Research and Graduation Works Exhibition.
