明和電機／Maywa Denki 「スミナール」

明和電機社長・土佐信道によるサウンドアート。炭化した新聞紙を「抵抗」として使い、その抵抗値の変化で音程が変化する「音が出るドローイング」を制作。仕組みはリボンコントローラーと呼ばれ、大ヒット商品オタマトーンにも使用。独自の技術により有機廃棄物から燃料となる炭を製造しているZEエナジー社とのアートコラボプロジェクトとして誕生しました。 Sound art by Nobumichi Tosa, president of Maywa Denki. Using carbonized newspapers as "resistance," he created "sound-producing drawings" whose pitch changes with the change in resistance.
