上根拓馬／Takuma KAMINE サークル オブ 焔 Circle of Homura

四天王のうちの2体、東(持国天)西(広目天)が焔・炎の環でつながっている。 四天王とはTHE・Guardianと呼んでもいいほどの守護の象徴である。 そして守護するということは、繋がりを創りだすという事とも言い換えることができる。 また、炎の最上級ともいえる焔。 それが環となり鑑賞者と対峙することにより繋がりというものを形成してゆく。 2つの繋がりは縁という言葉となり、さらに円・炎とも言い換えられて作品へと還ってゆくのである。

Two of the Four Heavenly Kings, East (Jikokuten) and West (Hiromokuten), are connected by a ring of flame and fire. The Four Heavenly Kings are the symbols of protection, so much so that they can be called THE Guardians. To protect means to create a connection. The flame is also the highest form of flame. When it becomes a ring and confronts the viewer, it forms a connection. The connection between the two becomes the word "rim," which can be further paraphrased as a circle and a flame, and returns to the work.
