足立篤史／Atsushi Adachi 「Albert II」

Albert IIはアメリカが1949年6月14日に、アメリカが生産したV2ロケットに乗せられ、初めて宇宙へといった猿(アカゲザル )であるが、しかしながら帰還時にパラシュートが開かなく、地面へ激突してしまった。
素材は1949年のThe New York Timesなどの新聞を使用。当時の米ソの宇宙開発、そして弾道ミサイル開発などの記事なども多数あり、そういった内容と当時の時代背景などの記事も多く使用した作品となっている。
また、着用している宇宙服は、当時実験されていた与圧服などをイメージし制作。


足立篤史　
1988年横須賀市生まれ。
2014年東京造形大学美術学科彫刻専攻卒業、東京造形大学卒業研究・卒業制作展「ZOKEI賞」受賞。

Albert II was the first monkey (rhesus monkey) to go into space on June 14, 1949, aboard a V2 rocket produced by the U.S. However, on its return, the parachute did not open and the monkey crashed into the ground.
The materials used in the film are from newspapers such as The New York Times in 1949. The work also includes many articles on the space development of the U.S. and the Soviet Union at that time, as well as ballistic missile development and other topics.
The space suits worn in the work were inspired by the pressurized suits that were being experimented with at the time.


Atsushi Adachi　
Born in Yokosuka, Japan in 1988.
Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 2014, majoring in sculpture, and received the “ZOKEI Prize” at the Tokyo Zokei University Graduation Research and Graduation Works Exhibition.
