山上渡／WATARU YAMAKAMI「Etude #4」

山上渡は、「増殖と変容」そこから生まれる結びつきをテーマとし、マクロやミクロといった可視化できない領域に私たちの日常とを連関させることで、新たな超現実世界を描きだそうと試みている。
岡本太郎現代芸術賞特別賞を受賞した気鋭のアーティスト。

作品は、ヒルトン東京（新宿）にて展示中。

<Etude>とは習作という意味であり、2018年に制作された作品のために描かれたものである。

山上渡
1981年高知生まれ、長野育ち。絵画、立体、インスタレーション、ドローイングを用い「増殖と変容」そこから生まれる結びつきをテーマとしている。マクロやミクロといった可視化できない領域に私たちの日常とを連関させることで、新たな超現実世界を描きだそうと試みている。「岡本太郎現代芸術賞」特別賞(2009)、「Tokyo Midtown Award 2013」準グランプリ・オーディエンス賞受賞(2013)、2018年度文化庁新進芸術家海外研修制度によりインドネシアに渡航。

Wataru Yamakami's theme is "proliferation and transformation," and he attempts to depict a new surreal world by relating our daily lives to the invisible realms of macro and micro.
He is an up-and-coming artist who was awarded the Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art.

His work is currently on display at the Hilton Tokyo (Shinjuku).

WATARU YAMAKAMI
Born 1981 in Kochi, raised in Nagano. Using painting, sculpture, installation, and drawing, he focuses on the theme of "proliferation and transformation" and the connections that emerge from this process.He attempts to depict a new surreal world by relating our daily life to the invisible realms of macro and micro.
He received the “Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art” Special Prize (2009), the “Tokyo Midtown Award 2013” Runner-up Grand Prix and Audience Prize (2013), and traveled to Indonesia under the Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Study Program for Emerging Artists (2018).
