申林涛（SHEN LINTAO）は中国吉林出身、上海育ちのペインターです。現代社会におけるありふれた日常風景や消耗品から映し出される人と人の関係、人と消費社会の関係などを描きます。
大胆なタッチで極彩色を用いながらも、光の明暗の描写は見るものの目を奪い、釘付けにします。同時に、そこに表出されたモチーフは、確かに私たちの生活の一部と化した消費の現実であり、対面した瞬間に起こる共感、そしてまるで自身の生活の一コマを覗かれたかのような驚き、さらには消費に対する罪悪にも似た感情が心をかすめます。
2021年6月にEARTH ＋GALLERYでの個展開催から3年。当時は新型コロナウィルスを脅威に感じながらも動き出し、経済活動を取り戻しつつデジタルの可能性が広がる時でした。
今展覧会では、タクシーをモチーフに、デジタルで描き、細かな作業を更に加えて木のパネルに直接描き独特の色の組み合わせでデジタルで描いた色を再現します。新しい表現に挑戦するSHENLINTAOの新作をご高覧いただけますと幸いです。

SHEN LINTAO is a painter born in Jilin, China and raised in Shanghai. He depicts the relationships between people and consumer society, as reflected in the mundane everyday scenes and consumable items of modern society.
The bold touch and the use of extreme colors in his depictions of light and dark captivate the viewer's eye and keep them glued to the canvas. At the same time, the motifs expressed in the works are the reality of consumption that has become a part of our daily lives, and the viewer is struck with empathy at the moment of encounter, surprise as if he or she were looking into a frame of his or her own life, and even guilt about consumption.

Three years have passed since his solo exhibition at EARTH + GALLERY in June 2021. At that time, the new coronavirus was threatening but moving, and it was a time when digital possibilities were expanding while economic activities were regaining momentum.
In this exhibition, the motif is a cab, drawn digitally, and further detailed work is added to reproduce the colors drawn digitally with a unique combination of colors directly on a wooden panel. We hope you will enjoy viewing SHENLINTAO's new works, which challenge new expressions.
